December 19th, 2010 at 1:39 pm
Hi Michael,
I wanted to thank you for making your ideas and sketches public and for generously sharing them at no cost.
I have been inspired by your music from your first album to your last. I am a big fan of Bill Nelson and his ebow technique ever since I saw him at the El Mocambo. When you came out with the infinite guitar, it was brilliant. It reminded me of Jon Hassell being played on the guitar.
I really enjoyed the cobalt blue concert at the Music Gallery years ago and it inspired me to pick up the guitar and experiment.
Your work in compositions for film makes perfect sense, as so much of your music is rich in atmosphere and texture.
Sorry for babbling on, but I just wanted to let you know that you’ve been an inspiration to me and am looking forward to your future musical endeavours.

Thank you for sharing your creative output. So often the soundtrack world is too ephemeral, disappearing almost as fast as the music from a live performance. It would be a sad loss were the site allowed to languish. May you reach a wider audience in 2011!

I like Ambient-Music. In thid World Music is the magic island to get a dieper contact to an part of the transzendence in me as a resonanz of the world. Inner peace is very needfull in our fasst time full of thing we don´t need. But we need musci to get a dipper concact to ourself and on this way to the world. Thank you for your music. She is transzendental and full of magic. This fast and sonetime uggly Time needs pictures for the way inside us. Musik is an transforming power for aour brain (conchisnis – in German: Bewußtsein). Musk has an opening power. Everybody is a Creator for a world full of needfull living. That you for your Musk. albrecht.kuntschke@t-online.de (Drummer, Rubish-Percussionist & Socialworker) Thank you for this downloadpossibilies. Albrecht Kuntschke, North-Germany

Thankyou for your generosity with sharing so much music.
I’ve been into your music since Captive.
Your music has been an inspiration for my last 2 albums (especially on a track called Cobalt Sky).
Thanks also for being an inspiration.
All the best with your creative endeavours

Oh, OK, I guess this will make up for the past 3 years of NOTHING! I almost gave up on this site, but now there’s enough here to keep me happy for the next 3 years! Thank you, Michael, I really do appreciate your artistry – and your generosity (even if it’s to appease your guilty conscience). Keep up the great work!

Hi Michael,
It’s very generous to let people and fans access to all this library of yours. A musicversal journey trough a whole life career…
I’m a long fan since the Hybrid album came out in 86. Sadly, the CD is far from the original sounds. I’m wondering if you could make a remaster of it like you did for Cobalt Blue, witch improved a lot the sound quality compared to the 92 edition…
Hybrid is “Timeless” !!!!!!!!!

Michael, many thanks for sharing your work. I am a massive fan of your music, having first heard Distant Village from Hybrid on a sampler called Angels in the Architecture way back in 1987 when I was 18.
I remember playing Cobalt Blue very loud in my university halls too and thinking how cool it sounded. Thanks again and best of luck with future projects – I’ll be listening.

I have a theory that you are responsible for putting Eno and Lanois together through your association with Jon Hassell’s Vernal Equinox of 1977. Is this correct?
BTW thank you for your generosity; good karma.

What an astonishing surprise! I feel as though I have just uncovered a trove of priceless gems… in fact, I have. I like unearthing free music almost as much as paying hard working artists for their wares. My heart soars like a hawk.

I just finished watching the movie “Wrecked” and was totally blown away by the score. So I came here looking for any information on how to get it, and then I discover this tremendous treasure trove of amazing music. In this age of everyone trying to “get their’s,” it does the soul good to see a tremendous artist like yourself freely giving back to his fans. Thank you…
PS Any idea if Wrecked will be released???

Absolutely amazing. Truely priceless. I’ve long thought that music can and does have a “drug” affect property with the way it morphs ones’ cerebral state.
Michaels talent, genius, gift is simply spellbinding. The treatments, atmospheres, blendings, applications take me to the most serene, delicate, haunting states/levels.
In lieu of yoga or meditation, especially at the end of a busy, stressed day, I just turn to my Michael Brook collections for my calming end of day reflection.
Thank you Michael. You are truely blessed.

What an embarrassment of riches! A producer friend of mine in L.A. posted about this. And, because I have been a fan since first hearing “Hybrid” in the ’80s, I had to check it out and see if it was true. Your generosity to strangers — which most of us who are your fans really are — is quite astounding. Here, suddenly, my Michael Brook music catalog has suddenly quadrupled. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Let us hope that this spurs many more film score jobs, and inspires folks to check out your available CD back-catalog.
